GMS2 Object & Sprite Batch Asset Creator

  • Add sprites to your Game Maker project from any directory.
  • Create named objects in your Game Maker project using the sprites in a directory.  If sprites exist in the project with the same name those sprites will be set to the new Objects or if no sprites with that name exist in the project, blank objects will be created and named.
  • Create the sprites & objects using a directory with sprites.  
  • Set the tags.
  • Set the origin point.
  • Set existing parent objects or create new ones.


I've been collaborating with the game studio Sick Fish on our current title, Time Shift Drifters, developed in Game Maker Studio 2. The project involves managing a large volume of sprites and objects, requiring extensive time to import assets, configure object properties, asset origins, and establish parent relationships.

To streamline this process, we began analyzing the .yy and .yyp files to better understand how Game Maker structures and integrates resources.  This led to the development of a custom application that automates much of the asset setup, significantly reducing the time it takes setting up assets for use in our project.

This tool has been a huge help in our workflow, and we hope it will be useful to others working in Game Maker Studio 2.
